CVM/IAS Library conducted Information Literacy Program for second semester SY 2017-2018. Six sessions (February 12-15, 2018) and two special sessions (January 22 and 24, 2018) were attended by a total of 44 participants from CVM, IAS and other UPLB graduate and undergraduate students.
Various topics were discussed, such as access to online veterinary and animal sciences resources/databases, library rules and regulations and the different online services of the library. Two sessions were allotted for the use of Mendeley (online reference management tool) and Turnitin (online originality checker).
On February 2, 2018 (1:00-5:00PM), the CVM/IAS library conducts a training on “Scanning and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Process for Digitization of Special Collections” at the library Mezzanine Floor. The activity was specially organized for 16 participants from other UPLB College Libraries and CVM staff for them to be more informed and well prepared to embrace the challenge and importance of digitization.
As part of the 94th Founding Anniversary of U.P. Libraries held at UPLB, librarians and library staff were awarded in recognition of their service in our libraries. CVM Head Librarian, Ms. Adelina M. Esperante, and library staff Mr. Bayle Baguioan and Ms. Lucy M. Andal received a Plaque of Appreciation for serving the library for not more than 25 years. And CVM librarian, Ms. Perla S. Calma received Oblation statuette for serving the library for more than 30 years.
